About Us

Siesta Key Island Rentals is a small, locally run vacation rental company managing over 20 properties on Siesta Key, Florida. We're not a corporate booking platform, and we're not an absentee management company. The same team that runs the front desk at the Inn on Siesta Key is the team answering the phone when something goes wrong at 7:20 on a Sunday night. We know because that's happened.

It started at the Inn on Siesta Key

The company was founded in 2020, but the story really starts a few years earlier, at the Inn. Guests would come stay with us, fall in love with the island (most people do), and decide they wanted a piece of it for themselves. After buying a home or condo nearby, several of them came back and asked the same question: could we manage their property the way we managed the Inn?

That was the beginning. One owner became two, two became five, and over the past six years the portfolio has grown into the collection of homes, cottages, and condos you see on the site today. We didn't go looking for properties to sign up. The owners came to us, and most of them are still with us.

We treat guests like family, not customers

That's a phrase that gets used a lot in hospitality, so it's worth saying what we actually mean by it. Guests are spending what's often their one real vacation of the year on Siesta Key, and many have worked and saved for months to be here. Our job isn't to upsell them or hand them a stack of pamphlets. It's to make the stay feel like they're staying with people who actually know the island and want them to enjoy it.

When a guest asks where to eat, we tell them where we eat. When they ask about a sunset spot, we tell them which beach we'd pick that night based on the wind. When they ask about a charter or a rental, we give them a real answer instead of the company with the highest referral fee. That's the difference, and it's hard to fake.

When something goes wrong, we fix it the same day

Vacations have problems. The A/C dies. A toilet backs up. Something stops working at the worst possible time. What matters is what happens next.

A couple of examples from the last few years:

A guest called on a Sunday at 7:20 p.m. with a backed-up toilet. We had a plumber on site by 9:40 p.m. that same night, and staff in the next morning to clean up.

A group came back from dinner in the Village at 1:20 a.m. and walked into a unit with no air conditioning. The A/C company couldn't get there until 8 a.m. We moved them into an open unit that night so they could actually sleep, and fixed the original unit in the morning.

We don't share these because they went smoothly. We share them because things break, and what guests remember is whether someone showed up. Our standard is same-day resolution whenever it's physically possible, and a workaround that keeps the trip going when it isn't.

We work with owners who care about their properties

The homes in our portfolio range from one-bedroom cottages with a quiet, tucked-away feel to larger residential homes that comfortably fit groups of eight or ten. That mix is on purpose. Guests' needs change from trip to trip. The couple who books a cottage in March may come back in October with their adult kids and want something bigger.

What all of those properties have in common is an owner who treats it as a home rather than a passive investment - someone who keeps up with maintenance and replaces what needs replacing. That's the reason a guest can book any unit on the site and trust that someone has been paying attention.

We do this because we get to live here

Sarasota and Siesta Key are unusual places, and getting to share them with someone who only sees them for a week is the part of the job that doesn't feel like a job. You can almost watch the moment it happens: guests arrive with their shoulders up around their ears, and a day or two in, after some time on the sand, they're a different version of themselves. That's the moment.

We can't promise that for everyone, but we can take everything else off the plate so it has a chance to happen.

About Siesta Key

Siesta Key is a barrier island south of Longboat Key in Sarasota County, Florida. The island is best known for Siesta Beach, regularly ranked among the top beaches in the country for its powdery, almost-white quartz sand that stays cool underfoot even in summer. Crescent Beach sits just south, and Turtle Beach at the southern end is quieter and known for its nesting sea turtles.

Most of our rentals are within walking or short driving distance of Siesta Key Village, where the shops and restaurants are concentrated, and all of them are minutes from a public beach access. For a closer look at restaurants, day trips, seasonal events, and the best time of year to visit, our News & Stories section has guides on each.
