Best Steak Houses in Sarasota

Steak has an appeal that reaches beyond an ordinary piece of meat.  Steak may not be healthy, inexpensive, or exotic – that’s not the point.  People order a steak in restaurants because of how it makes them feel.  A steak is savored.  It is satisfying.  It is unequaled among the meats.  It is the choice meat of celebrations and accomplishments.  Yeah, steak is all that and more.

When you have an appetite that only a juicy steak can conquer, it’s time to steer the wagon toward one of the best steak houses in Sarasota.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

2001 Siesta Dr., Sarasota 34239

(941) 358-9463

Fleming’s never disappoints and many locals frequent this restaurant.  The steaks are always cooked to perfection and the attentive staff works hard to make your dining experience one that you won’t soon forget.  They also have curbside service so you can enjoy a wonderful dinner at home.  Fleming’s also offers innovative plant-based options to suit everyone’s taste.

Connors Steak & Seafood

3501 South Tamiami Trail, Ste. 1165, Sarasota 34239

(941) 260-3232

Voted “Best Steakhouse” by Sarasota Magazine, Connors uses wood-fired grills for a unique dining experience.  From their dry-aged cuts to their well-marbled ribeyes, every steak that Conners serves is prepared to the customer’s satisfaction.  They also have an extensive seafood menu as well, plus chicken entrees and sandwiches, and burgers for the kids

Siesta Key Summer House Steak & Seafood

149 Avenida Messina, Sarasota 34242

(941) 260-2675

The Summer House has long been a favorite restaurant in Siesta Key, but people all over the Gulf coast come for their certified 100% true Angus steaks and chops.  Their hand-cut steaks come from prestigious ranches and are aged for 40 days to maximize tenderness and flavor.  Then, the steaks are cooked on a 1200-degree Montague Grill for a truly unique taste.

Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse

35 South Lemon Ave., Sarasota 34236

(941) 366-7788

This cozy steakhouse, located just minutes from Siesta Key, is known for traditional steaks like their popular 36-day dry-aged bone-in ribeye and classic and nouveau styles like Steak ala Oscar, Steak au Poivre, and Tounedos au Bleu.  Hyde Park features a fireplace for cool evenings and a covered outdoor dining terrace with a sidewalk café atmosphere.

Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse

6700 Tamiami Trail, Sarasota 34231

(941) 924-9442

Ruth’s Chris serves the finest cuts of USDA prime beef available, cooked in an 1800-degree custom broiler, seasoned just right, then served on a 500-degree sizzling plate.  Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse has always been known for impeccable customer service and their Sarasota location is no exception.

The Alpine Steakhouse & Butcher Shop

4520 S Tamiami Trl, Sarasota 34231

(941) 922-3797

While this may not look like your typical steakhouse, looks can be deceiving.  This quaint little butcher shop, restaurant, and small specialty grocery is Sarasota’s only old-fashioned restaurant and meat market.  The father-son team prides itself on knowing more about beef than anyone else, and it’s hard to argue that fact.  It is also impressive that virtually nothing comes out of a box or is shrink-wrapped.  Everything is homemade from scratch.  The restaurant features prime dry-aged steaks as well as seafood, chicken, lamb, and crab cakes, along with Japanese Kobe burgers, cheese steaks, and German specialties.  They also serve fine wines and more than sixty imported beers.

When you are hungry for a steak, no other meat will do.  It’s nice to know that Sarasota has some amazing steakhouses and they are all ready to serve up that thick, juicy steak just the way you like it.
